This is the first cover I've tried by myself. I had a cover artist do the other books. I'm looking for comments. Carl Phillips wasn't the brightest bulb in the package. He robs a convenience store and only gets $10.85. On his way out, he spots some scratch lottery tickets. He grabs a bunch as he leaves and his life will never be the same. How could a few silly scratch lottery tickets cause so much trouble? Attachments:

I like the image, but the title text in particular is hard to read. Text also seems a bit too large.
Maybe make the image a bit smaller, in-between two black sections, or play with a filter to make the top part of the image fade to lighter or darker, so the text will show up better?
(I did that for one cover, where the text was showing up on half of the background and not the other half. Added a small layer behind the title, made it extremely translucent, then smudged it to make it blend. It actually worked out far better than I expected.)

I'd move 'Winner' over - see if you can read it better.

I agree that the font placement/readability could be tinkered with a bit. I like the color and style though!

I like the size of the text. It is a little hard to read. The detail in the background/picture is fighting with the text, and the text is a little busy. A bolder font might work better. Otherwise, I like your design.

I moved 'Winner' to the left and made all of the title smaller. It helped. Thanks everyone. Attachments:

I think the font's wrong. If you browse the top-selling books on Amazon, you'll find nearly all of the fonts are simple and easy-to-read. And I don't think the yellow text with red outline looks good either. Apart from that, it's a good cover.
