After the death of his wife, Dr. Ryan Iverson turned love into a weapon. His creation, Angela, is an android that fools her targets into falling helplessly in love with her. As Deputy Director of Science and Technology at the CIA, his mission is to use Angela to seduce and destroy internationally wanted playboy and illicit travel book writer C.C. Go. His series of books, The Traveler's Companion, is an infamous guide for wealthy hedonists to indulge their every whim. The newest edition, however, only has one destination: the Zone, a place where mind creates matter, where the sick can be healed with a thought, and where a man's fantasies are made manifest. Dr. Iverson may be the only one who understands the potential dangers in a place C.C. Go calls the womb of creation: Reality doesn't stand a chance. Attachments:

…From the location of the black hole on the body, I'd assume it's a steamy one. The blurb reinforces the impression, though
Your name's easier to read than the title, though, and is there a reason for the "A Novel"? It's redundant.
My impression is that the title needs to be bigger, surname smaller.

Its actually not a steamy book if you mean pornographic... though it does deals with romantic issues. Thank you for the comments. I did it myself with Gimp2.6. my first cover. I would pay an illustrator if I had the cash. I put "a novel" because the traveler's companion is also known as a travel guide.

…The cover kinda gives away that it's fiction, though, doesn't it? "Steamy" essentially means open-door sex scenes, which isn't necessarily erotica. (Long story short: I learned the steamy/erotica distinction first-hand on accident.) If it isn't particularly steamy, you may want to move the person image somehow, because with the the black hole centralized where underwear goes… I think it's giving the wrong idea.

I agree, the galaxy of burning love might be giving a slightly wrong idea of this book's content. Reader attention is drawn right to that 'hot spot'...
I do like the font you've chosen, though the varying sizes in the title seems a little odd to me. I'd vote for same size in title, and ok with making your last name bigger~

My first impression was that it was a galaxy stamped on her butt, which still probably isn't quite what you intended. [wry smile]
Another vote for the combination of cover art and summary blurb giving the impression of a story with explicit sex.
And I'm going to tentatively disagree that the "A Novel" bit is completely redundant. There are plenty of e-books being published that are novellas, or novelettes, or short stories. Not all the e-book vendors have the wordcount front and center, so seeing on the cover that a book is indeed a novel might be helpful. [ponder] Although shouldn't the "A Novel" label, if you decide to keep it, be near the title rather than the author's name?

There is no sex in my book because I giggle every time I try to write a sex scene, but if implied sex is a bad thing, let me be bad. Thank you again for the comments. Good fun. Um, the bad thing is that your cover misleads the reader. It tells the reader there will be explicit sex in the book, which will drive away readers who don't want to read explicit sex. The ones who do read it, expecting explicit sex, will be disappointed by unfulfilled expectations. ETA: And referring to traditionally-published novels doesn't change that something looks strange. There are some horrible traditional covers, out there.

Move the galaxy closer to the navel. Check anatomy charts to figure out where a woman's uterus really is honey. shallzc@gmail.com is my email. I am an illustrator. If you are really bent on keeping the images you have for the cover then send them to me and I will work my magic pro-bono for this one cover to help you out. It shouldn't take long anyways. Pardon my horrible writing as well please. I'm an artist, not an author like you folks.

the picture is an anatomical picture, a medical picture of a woman's uterus. take away galaxy, get uterus. But since you're a pro, i would like to see what you can do.

I like this one better than the other one. Although it does have an older title feel to it. Something a long the lines of a Heinlein cover from the 1980's. Author's name is a little difficult to read, but I'm sure you knew that.
