This is my revised cover for my paranormal romance The Heart Moon. The tagline is very small, I know, but it's there mainly to intrigue and to make the cover look more professional. Attachments:

The tagline makes it sound like a fantasy. But from the rest of the cover, I'd assume some different genre that I don't generally read.

My first thought is that, except for the tag line -- which isn't really readable at that size, much less anything smaller -- there's nothing about the cover that says "paranormal." It's clearly a romance, from the pic on the upper left, which is good. I even like the color, but then I like pink and purple and others might disagree. It would stand out, though, among other covers with a more mixed palette, and that could be good. [ponder] I'm not sure the layout, with the two pics on top and then the text area in the lower half, is working. The upper right pic, with the tree and the moonlight, says neither "romance" nor "paranormal." The other picture already says "romance," so maybe you could find some other pic that says "paranormal?" There's not even a moon in it -- or not directly, since we can only see the moonlight shining around the tree -- which would tie in with your title. I'm wondering what a "heart moon" is, but you're not showing me. You don't have to show me on the cover, if it's a revelation for later in the story, but the fact that I'm wondering, and that there's a moon implied on the cover but I can't see it is kind of frustrating. To me, you've got the text in the wrong order. You read tagline, series title, author and book title. I would have preferred to read title, author, tagline (on one line) and series title.
